Some people suggest water fasting to lose weight. It means that you will only drink water and no food. I will show you facts about water fasting and whether it is safe for us to do it.

Water fasting has been known for more than 100 years. It is usually used as the last effort to lose weight because every diet didn’t work. Dr. Herbert Shelton (1895-1985), one of the founders of the American Natural Hygiene Society and is known as an alternative medicine advocate has recommended water fasting to over 40,000 patients.
Water fasting is done to restore your body to its original condition. By doing fasting you are cleaning your body and mind from bad things which has been built over the years. It’s an ideal way to start a healthy life after so many bad food. When you are fasting, your digestive system will rest and this will give your body a chance to heal other part of the body.
Water fasting is a radical way to lose weight. But it is not a long term strategy to lose weight. After you lose weight by water fasting, you can gain weight again if you didn’t change your unhealthy eating habit such as eating lots of candy, sugar, fast food and soft drink. So if you are overweight you can use water fasting to quickly restore your normal weight and then change your life style by eating healthy food and do regular exercise.
How to do water fasting?
If you are a beginner, it’s better to first do one day of water fasting. If you are thinking of doing it for multiple day you should consult with your doctor first. When you do water fasting there is actually no rule on how much water you need to drink. But you should drink more than 6 glass of water per day. If you often go to the bathroom every half hour you need to reduce your drinking.
Water fasting tips
When you want to do water fasting here are some tips which will help you in the process:
- Before starting, I suggest you to purchase colon cleanser to help your body start eliminating stubborn fecal debris.
- Drink purified water. Buy aportable water ionizer. The main thing is get the best quality water to drink.
- You can start with half day water fasting. After your body can adapt to it, you can go with the full day water fasting.
Is water fasting dangerous?
Water fasting is not for everyone because it is a radical way to lose weight. Women who are pregnant or people who have certain liver and kidney disorder condition should avoid water fasting. Water fasting is a very low carb diet so you might feel weak and nausea on the first day, so you need to be careful using water fasting to lose weight.
